This September, I held my first Modern Headshot Day at my studio in downtown Caldwell, and I really enjoyed creating a headshot experience that felt a little different from the usual professional headshot.
When most people think of a headshot, they picture a photograph from the shoulders up. That is still important, but there are so many situations where having a photograph that shows more of you can be useful. A Modern Headshot gives you the opportunity to have both.
Your headshot can be used on your business website, LinkedIn, social media profiles, email signatures, company websites, speaking or networking profiles, press releases, and marketing materials. If you own a business or are building a personal brand, you may also want photographs that show more of your personality and give people a better idea of who you are.
That is one of the things I like about the Modern Headshot experience. We can create a traditional headshot, but we can also move beyond that and create images from the waist up or even further out, depending on what you need. You might use one image for LinkedIn, another on your website, and a more relaxed image for social media or your personal brand.
Hair and makeup are included, and I spend time helping with posing, expressions, clothing choices and the little things that make a photograph feel natural. We can also use different backdrops so you have more than one look to choose from.
I think professional photographs should be useful for more than just one place. Your career, business and personal brand can change over time, and having a variety of current images gives you something you can actually use wherever you need it.
My next Modern Headshot Day is October 22nd at my downtown Caldwell studio. I’m looking forward to doing another one and creating even more variety for the people who come in.
